Vintage Secret at Goodwood!

Well hello Vintage Secret fans! Chief blog writer Katie here, back from my holidays across the Atlantic…in case you’ve been wondering why we went a bit quiet on the blog front.But we have so much to tell you!Let’s start at the beginning;a few weeks ago we received an email from Katherine Higgins, vintage expert for the BBC and The Antiques Roadshow. She is currently also Vintage Fashion Curator for an amazing new event, Vintage at Goodwood, scheduled for the 13th,14th and 15th August 2010.We were invited to come along to The Goodwood Revival this year to provide a taster for the fashion element of next year’s event- which will also feature film, music, dance, beauty, cooking and camping! We trundled down to Goodwood with a load of our finest stock; men and womenswear, accessories and crockery . We were given the use of an amazing pop-up store, featuring original vintage cabinets and a gorgeous changing room lined with vintage images.One side of our little boutique housed Nina’s Hair parlour– with Leila, Sammy and Nina herself doing the amazing hairstyles for the Beatnik and Glamcab girls performing on site, as well as our favourite pin-up model Fleur de Guerre who was doing three shows a day! (Spot real life bfriend of VS’s Naomi as Fleur’s hubby ‘James’!)They also took appointments from the public and transformed many a grateful customer including yours truly- the hairdo they did for me on the Friday lasted until Sunday night; most efficient!

Over the weekend we were serenaded
by various singers,performers,
dogs, and even had our own pianist!
Finally, here’s a pic of Naomi and Zoe posing in our store window.What a weekend!Guests at our store included Katie of What Katie Did, Vivien of Holloway and Lena from Queens of Vintage- check out her review here.To see all our photos, visit our facebook page.
We are now super busy restocking- remember if you have any vintage gems you can bear to part with, we are always looking to buy, so just drop us an email;
