Jingle Bell Jive at the National Army Museum
Jingle Bell Jive – 11 December 2010 – Evening of 40’s jive, fashion and music
Spice up the dark nights and shake up the festive season with an evening of sizzling 40’s glamour, music and dance. This December, the National Army Museum will be filled with jive, jitterbug and Big Band swing, as it hosts its first ever ‘40’s dance night, Jingle Bell Jive, on Saturday 11 December 2010.
From music lovers, 40’s fashionistas to the jive enthusiasts – this evening has something for all. A make-up stand will offer ladies expert assistance to achieve authentic 40’s glamour hair and make-up. Professional dancers will dazzle guests with their fancy footwork and give demonstrations, as wartime music will put revelers ‘in the mood’ and provides a backdrop for a night to remember that can be captured at our novelty sepia-toned photo booth.
The National Army Museum’s World Wars 1905-47 permanent gallery offers visitors unable to attend Jingle Bell Jives, the opportunity to explore more about the people, events and context of the Second World War.
Wrap up your Christmas shopping this year at the National Army Museum with an array of clever toys, posters and even specialty eggcups and soldiers kits, all available to purchase from the Museum Shop or Online store.
